There's the entry view, waiting for the grass to grow in. The shadows show how well the
pecan trees shade this southwestern side. The gable over the carport catches all the heat
midday, the gable over the porch connects to the back porch, providing insulation and shade.
The view from the back porch to the pond. Below is a picture of the pond from the other side
of the tree line: a very pleasant place to walk.
The floor plan is deceptively simple. Getting the numbers to fall on even two, four, and eight foot increments was
the work of many hours of scribble and toss. Reducing the square footage to under 1,600 was not a sacrifice but
a matter of including only what was necessary and then leaving out some of that. By world standards it's huge, in
America it's little. We love it.
